Manos Dimitriou - Composer
Manos Dimitriou, composer, solo pianist, music teacher.
He was born in Athens and studied music at the Central National Conservatory and the Conservatory of Contemporary and Classical Music, as well as at the Conservatoire de Liszt in Lyon.
He studied piano, with saxophone as his second instrument, advanced music theory, and completed a Master’s degree in composition at the University of West London.
He has knowledge of music technology and music software.
In 2010, he received an award in a composition competition from H.O.N. In 2015, his book was published by Nakas Publications, titled “Analysis of the 48 Piano Fugues by Bach.”
His compositions are in the fields of classical and film music and include symphonies, trios, quartets, quintets, duets, and solo piano works.
From 1994 to 2002, he performed piano recitals featuring works by international composers as well as his own compositions for piano and ensembles.
In 2022, he composed music for a trailer.
As a pianist, from 1999 to 2007, he collaborated with various classical music ensembles, and in 2000 with the Jazz Ensemble of Athens on a project marking the 100th anniversary of the birth of George Gershwin, touring throughout Greece.
Since 1999, he has worked as a piano, theory, advanced theory, orchestration, and composition teacher at conservatories, a music academy, and the Pallini Music Gymnasium and Lyceum. From 2023 to the present, he has been teaching in Kastellorizo under the auspices of Apostoli, the Archdiocese of Athens, and Eurobank.
